2024 Top 5 Seniors

Ava Benjamin
Ava Benjamin, daughter of Kenny and Lana Benjamin, is the Valedictorian of the Class of 2024. Ava was proud to receive mastery on every regents exam, and the highest score on the Chemistry, US History, English, and Biology Regents. She has been a member of both National Honor Society and Student Government at various times throughout her high school career. She has also had the top averages in many classes for multiple years in a row. She has played Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball all at the Varsity level for 3 years, being a team captain for every team and winning 1st Team MAC Volleyball player the past 2 years. She also plays Club Volleyball for KODA Wildcats outside of school. In her free time, Ava enjoys reading, spending time with her friends and family, and thrift shopping. After graduation, Ava plans to attend the University of Scranton majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Psychology along with continuing her volleyball career.



Katie Yates
Katie Yates, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Yates, is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2024.  She is a positive and hard-working student in all of her classes. She has been a member and an officer in both National Honor Society and Student Government.  Throughout her high school career she has won many academic awards and artistic awards.  She has done both plays and musicals during highschool including Urinetown, Little Shop, and this year's Sister Act.  In her free time, Katie enjoys playing video games with her friends and going on walks around town. She also enjoys playing pickleball and other intramural sports. After high school, Katie plans to study Game Design and Development at Rochester Institute of Technology. 
 


Ethan Hodge
Ethan Hodge, son of Mark and Pepper Hodge, is third in his class. He is proud of having received a 100 on both the Global and Physics regents. Ethan is president of Oxford's chapter of the National Honor Society and has been an active member in the drama club. He has been in each play and musical over the past three years. He has also participated in NYSSMA since seventh grade, and is doing a max level solo this year. Ethan has also been on the varsity golf team since seventh grade, and was chosen as captain this year. Ethan plans to go to SUNY Binghamton to major in physics and history, after which he wants to attend law school and become an attorney.


Jocelyn Victoria Finch 
Jocelyn “Jocie” Finch, daughter of Jason and Holly Finch, is number 4 in the Class of 2024. Jocie is the definition of “well-rounded”.  She is a very hardworking individual who values education and hopes to make a difference in the world. She has won many academic awards and has been on high honor roll all four years of highschool. Jocie is a three sport athlete. She has played soccer, basketball, and tennis all four years of highschool. She was captain of the soccer and basketball teams and has multiple All-Tournament team awards for both. Jocie has also been a member of the Oxford Drama club and has had lead parts in a few of the productions, her favorite being “Florence Colleymoore” from “The Play That Goes Wrong.” Jocie is a member of the National Honor Society and is currently the President of Student Government. In addition to being very athletic Jocie is also very musically inclined and can play many instruments including the drums, ukulele, and piano. Jocie has made many wonderful memories at Oxford Academy, but she can’t wait for college and all that the future holds for her.  She plans to attend SUNY Cortland in the fall majoring in Elementary Education and is on the waitlist for the Physical Education major, after which she plans on being a physical education teacher like her uncle, Lance Thorne.

 

Madison Laskowski
Madison Jo Laskowski, daughter of Joe Laskowski and Brenda Brown, is one of the top five seniors for the Class of 2024. Throughout her high school career, she has been dedicated to achieving her dreams. Madison is secretary of multiple clubs such as GSA, National Honor Society, Drama Club, and Student Government. She has also been a part of chorus since moving to Oxford Academy in fifth grade, in which she grew her passion for music and theater. Being in musical productions Into the Woods, Urinetown, and Sister Act, along with plays The Grimms Brother Spectaulathon and The Play That Goes Wrong, she also found her love for the stage. Madison plans to attend Cleveland State University in the fall, majoring in Communications and minoring in Music. Afterwards, she hopes to be a band manager and travel the world meeting new people.
